Heidi Murkoff:Hi everyone.
Im here today with Linda Hanna.
Linda Hanna:Why dont we do the cross-cradle hold first?
Kelly:Sounds great.
LH:Im going to hand you the baby so he is completely on his side facing you.
Mom-to-Be:Like this?
LH:Perfect positioning for your baby.
Wait for him to open his mouth really wide and then latch him on.
HM:So this is the cross over hold.
HM:And then we can move right into a cradle hold.
LH:Come around and tuck your arm, Kelly.
HM:Aww youre cradling that little bundle.
LH:And there you go.
Youre going to notice when hes nursing hes going to stop and start.
LH:Why dont you go ahead and take him off.
HM:Yeah thats really important break that suction.
LH:And Ill hold the baby while you change your pillow to this side.
Go ahead and fold your bra down.
So the same thing: Youre going to tuck your baby all the way around on his side.
Feel that nice, deep latch.

Kelly:No.
Relax your thumb and relax your baby right down.
Youve got a little pocket here for your water bottle.
And away we go.
HM:Now were going to show a position that combines breast and rest.
HM:Like what new mom doesnt need some rest?
Bring your feet up
HM:And this is good for nighttime feedings, too.
And youre just going to have Bobby cuddle up right here next to you.
Go ahead and lift your breast and on.
LH:Think of yourself as the queen and this is the little prince.
So we dont want you leaning into the prince.
The queen sits back, the baby comes to the queen.
Kelly:Thank you.
Thank you so much you guys for your help.
Kelly:Bob thanks you too.
Thanks Linda and thanks Kelly and, most of all, thank you Bob!
